Travelodge

The life of the travelling salesman. Travelodge room featuring constant traffic noise (as the walls are thinner than the double-glazed windows), plastic cutlery that folds away with the plastic ready-meals, four channels on the TV and a ciggie burn in the net curtains...

Depressing...

Blackwall Tunnel

You just can't do it. Three-and-a-half hours of driving and still not at my destination at the top of the A2. Did the journey again later and it took 1 1/4 hours. go figure...

So the moral of the tale is that you don't do business in SE1 before 11.00 o'clock.

The sun is out, The sky is blue...

...There's only the M25 to spoil the view...

Can't remember the last time I saw a blue sky but it sure makes a difference to the selling game. Was well timed as well as today I eclipsed the whole of Southern England, from one end to the other in a glorious arc of mobile marketing...

Good bit - the sunshine. Bad bit - parking in a lay-bye that appeared to be full of vomit, from one end to the other!!

A tale of two Fords

I'm sat in Tesco's carpark, doing a bit of paperwork and, by-and-by, a silver Ford Focus parks up on one side of me, followed a few minutes later by a second silver Focus that parks on the other side.

Back comes the old-boy who parked up first (with his shopping) clicking his key-fob like mad to unlock his car. Unfortunately he's trying to unlock the wrong car!! Hahaha - he's there for a whole five minutes, not noticing that the silver Focus two cars up is flashing its indicators and popping its catches as fast as he's hitting the key fob...

As you can see from the pix, it rained.

Man of Kent

A tale of strangely clear roads and a determination to fit in as much work as possible has landed me in Kent with an hour to spare. It's so dark that you'd think it was twilight but 'no', it's only 2.00 pm and I'm parked down a road that seems to suit the weather completely.

My friend the Lamp-post is trying to hang itself on the telephone wire, rather than sit it out with the rest of us...

Bracknell or Bust

A day of intense training in Bracknell today and nothing worthy of a pic until I spent a couple of hours on the M25, going nowhere (like usual).

Is that the first time the two words 'Intense' and 'Bracknell' have ever appeared together in the same sentence?

Sunny Brighton

Today I've been doing Brighton which, in turn, has been doing that hazy winter sunshine thing it does so well. Didn't get to see the sea but I did see that a Brighton property developer who was once very rude to me still hasn't managed to shift their latest project, 7 months after it went to market! Mmmm... you can literally see the cash leaching out of the walls. =D

Your picture today is of the A23 @ 70mph.

Darkest Berkshire

It's as boring as they said it would be - not quite raining, not quite dry, not quite light, not quite dark. This place is 'not quite' anything.

Everyone is driving at break-neck speeds, presumably in the hope of having a fatal accident and being able to leave this place behind.
